GUIDE 02 / CYBTX

Hosting for your WordPress website, whether it is a business website, blog or online store. Follow these steps to choose a plan, complete your order and prepare your site.

What you will learn: Identify your WordPress requirements, order hosting, and complete website connection and setup.
In this guide

What is WordPress hosting?

Hosting provides the environment for your WordPress files and website database within the limits of your plan. You also need a domain to access the website, along with content, a theme and plugins appropriate for your project.

Identify the work you need

Review what the offer includes. Hosting does not automatically include website design, paid themes or plugins, or full website management. Ask for the scope and cost of these services if you need them.

Before you order: assess your website

  • The number of websites, the size of existing files and databases, and suitable room for growth.
  • The website type—business site, blog or store—along with expected traffic and required functionality.
  • Theme and plugin requirements, a suitable PHP version, and any special integrations or tasks.
  • Whether you are building a new website or migrating an existing one. For a migration, prepare a description of the content, its size, and where email is currently hosted.

01 — Choose a WordPress plan

Open the WordPress hosting plans and compare website allowances, storage, databases, email accounts and resource limits. Select a plan that meets your needs, then start the order.

For stores or websites with demanding plugins, discuss resource requirements with the team before choosing a plan. Storage capacity alone does not determine whether a plan is suitable.

02 — Choose your billing period

At the service period step, choose an available billing period that suits you, such as monthly or annual billing. Review the amount for the full period, then select Continue.

Compare the total, including the billing period

An advertised monthly equivalent may apply to a longer subscription. Check the subscription length and total amount due, and review any discount and renewal conditions attached to the offer.

03 — Choose your website domain

At the domain selection step, choose the option that matches your situation:

Your situation Option to choose What to do
You need a new domain Register a new domain Enter the name and extension, then check availability. Choose an available name, review its fees, and complete the options shown.
You already own a domain Use an existing domain Enter the correct domain and select the option to use it. Connect it to the service using the activation instructions.

Enter only the domain name, such as example.com, without https:// or a page path. Check its spelling and extension: a single different character can identify a different domain.

If your website or email is already in use

Entering an existing domain does not automatically migrate website files or email. Coordinate migration and connection, and use the DNS settings supplied for your service in its activation instructions or by support. Preserve the records needed for existing email and other services.

04 — Select the add-ons you need

An additional services step may offer options such as backups or managed hosting. Read each option’s description and price. Leave unwanted options unselected, or choose the option to decline them where shown, then select Continue.

  • Backups: check retention, frequency, coverage, how to request a restore, and any restore fees.
  • Managed hosting: ask which administration tasks are included. Do not assume application development or every application issue is covered.
  • Billing periods: one add-on may be billed annually while another is billed monthly. Review each item separately.
Choose add-ons based on your needs

Seeing a backup option during checkout does not mean every plan includes backups automatically. Refer to your plan description and the add-ons you select.

05 — Review the cart, account and payment

Before continuing, review the cart: the service or plan, domain, billing period, add-ons, currency, and any discount or tax. Use the final total shown, and check renewal charges separately from the introductory offer.

  1. If you already have an account, sign in. For a new account, enter your name, email address, phone number and account type, and complete the requested fields accurately.
  2. Read the Service Agreement and Privacy Policy before accepting them. Complete any requested account verification as instructed.
  3. Choose a payment method available after signing in and follow its instructions. For a manual transfer, use the recipient details, currency and reference shown on your current invoice.
  4. Keep the order or invoice number and payment reference when provided. Check payment confirmation and then service setup status; these are separate stages.
If you have been charged but the invoice has not updated

Contact support with the invoice number and transaction reference before paying again, so the result of the first attempt can be confirmed.

06 — Prepare your WordPress website

  1. Follow the activation message and service status, then review the management panel link and assigned access details.
  2. For a new website, use the WordPress installation method available with your plan or ask the team for guidance. For an existing site, coordinate migration of the files and database.
  3. Connect the domain using the DNS settings supplied by the team. If email stays with another provider, preserve its settings during the change.
  4. Check HTTPS availability under your plan and complete certificate setup for the domain.
  5. Test pages, images, forms and sign-in. For a store, test the purchase flow and integrations according to your project configuration.
  6. Review the agreed backup arrangements and determine who is responsible for updating WordPress, the theme and plugins.
When moving an existing website

Agree on the migration steps and DNS change timing with the team. Review the new website before ending the old hosting service.

Support, follow-up and renewal

For help, open Support Requests using the account linked to your service, or use the Contact page if you cannot sign in. Include the service, domain and order or invoice number, then describe the problem, when it started, and the error message.

Add updates to the same request. Attach a clear screenshot if helpful, hiding passwords, verification codes and payment details. Track the service, domain and add-on renewal dates separately, and keep your contact email up to date to receive notices.
